First & Only

  • In 2010,

    he won the annual championship of Group Junior NCJ-B in China Karting Championship

    (the record holder of eight grand Slams in eight rounds)

    and the title of Most Promising Driver

  • In 2013,

    he won the Rotax Max of British Kart Championship and the European Challenge,

    becoming the first and only Chinese driver to win the annual championship in European karting.

  • In 2014,

    he reached an agreement with Ferrari as the youngest Driver of Driver Academy,

    becoming the only Chinese Driver signing with Ferrari.

  • In 2015,

    he won the second place of FIA Italian Formula 4 Championship

    and the champion of Rookie Group

  • In 2018,

    he won the FIA Formula 3 European Championship in Pau, France,

    becoming the first and only Chinese winner in this event.

  • In 2019, he joined the Renault Sport Academy and became a Development Driver for Renault F1 team.

    He participated in the FIA Formula 2 Championship 2019, got on the podiums for 5 times

    and won 1 pole position as a rookie as well as the Rookie of the Year award presented by FIA (currently the track record holder at Silverstone in Formula 2).

    In 2019, he became the first Chinese driver driving Formula 1 single-seater in roadshow in Xintiandi, Shanghai.

  • In 2020,

    he was promoted to test driver for Renault F1 team and won the championship in Russia,

    becoming the first and only Chinese driver being the champion in FIA Formula 2 Championship.

  • He became a test driver for Alpine F1 team in 2021.

    He won 2021 FIA Asia F3 Championship.

    He won the championship in 2021 Bahrain Formula 2 round, making Chinese history of motor sport again.

    He made Formula 1 practice debut in Austria, making no mistakes in the entire session and achieving the fastest lap of 1.06.414.

    He will become China's first full-time F1 driver in 2022 by joining Alfa Remeo Racing ORLEN on 16th November 2021.

    He made the best record for Chinese driver in FIA Formula 2 with 4 champion, 9 podium and the annual third place.

    He drove for Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN in Formula 1 post-season test with total 277 laps on December 14-15, 2021.

  • He became the first Chinese driver to participate in the F1 Pre-season Testing on February 24, 2022.

    He became the first Chinese driver to participate in the full F1 Grand Prix, and won the Chinese first F1 Championship points in the first race On March 20, 2022.

    He got into Q3 and brought P8 back in the race as the first Chinese driver during the Canadian Grand Prix.

    He created the fastest lap at the Japanese Grand Prix race, when he challenged the Suzuka Circuit first time.

    He won the rookie of the year awards of F1 and Autosport.

  • He created the fastest lap again at the 2023 Bahrain Grand Prix, the opening event of the 2023 F1 season;

    Bringing P9 and 2 points back at the 2023 Australian Grand Prix, he achieved points finish for two consecutive F1 seasons;

    He created the best qualifying record for the Chinese driver in F1, qualifying in fifth place at F1 Hungarian Grand Prix 2023;

    He started from 19th on the grid and finished in 9th place. While finishing the race with points, he set a record for Chinese driver to improve his ranking in a F1 race at the 2023 Qatar Grand Prix;
